Liberator Pistol - Experimental Two Shot. (Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors).45 Caliber smooth bore pistol developed for "Sabotage" by OSS assets and partisan forces in WW2. This 2 shot pistol was made using a horizontal sliding breech originally invented by Jonathan Browning. This pistol was never sent for development and widely distributed as was the original Liberator Pistol. Very few of this two shot version are known to exist. It as originally designated as a "Flare Projector" to conceal the true nature of the weapon. The grip of the weapon was hollow and equipped with a slide cover on the butt. Ten rounds of ammunition could be carried in this space.
