HOWA 64 (7.62x51mm NATO). This assault rifle was developed and adopted by Japan Self-Defense Forces, when Japan was allowed to rearm. The US Army adopted the Springfield M14; this weapon was able to shoot in single or full-auto fire, and used standard NATO 7.62 20-rounds magazines. Today, just like the M14 in the US, this rifle is used in Japan for mainly military parades. Picture from Giovanni Tendas
