INDEP LUSA (model A2 and Sound-suppressed)
INDEP is the Portuguese State Armaments Corporation. This weapon is, as you can see, based on the MP5 design, although I can't say it is a "copy". It is the standard submachinegun of Portugal; is a conventionally designed weapon capable of being suppressed (see picture) and taking a laser aiming sight module. The weapon has never sold beyond Portugal, with the large number of submachinegun designs (i.e. Heckler & Koch MP-5, Uzi, etc) the market has never opened for this model. Despite this fact the weapon is still in use by the Portuguese Military who prefer it to other foreign designs. The LUSA fires the 9x19-Parabellum round, feeding from 15, 20 or 30-rounds magazine, in semi or full-auto fire. It weights approx. 2.85 Kg.
