SOCIMI AR-832/FS
SOCIMI "AR" ASSAULT RIFLES SERIES The "AR" assault rifles were made in a VERY LIMITED NUMBER, by SOCIMI (the same makers of the TYPE 821 SMG), when the italian Special Forces (the COMSUBIN/Italian NAVY SEALS, the SAN MARCO BATALLION /Italian Marines, and the COL MOSCHIN REGIMENT /Italian equivalent of the U.S.A DELTA FORCE) opened a trial for a new service assault weapons cache, instead of the old AR-70 series. The SOCIMI realized 2 assault rifles: the AR-832/FS and the AR-870.NONE of those were never adopted by ANY italian force. According to the webmaster of the site http://www.pmulcahy.com, which I e-mailed asking further informations about those rifles that I never seen or heard before spotting those on his website, THE LAST TIME THOSE VERE ADVERTISED, IT WAS ON THE 1992 ISSUE OF "JANE'S INFANTRY WEAPONS". The Italian Special Forces, at the end of the trials, reverted to the BERETTA 70/90 series. AR-832/FS The AR-832/FS is considered heavy for an assault rifle, but this also has the effect of fighting recoil and barrel climb. It has the novel feature of a special gas regulator that allows the firing of rifle grenades with normal ammunition that can normally only be fired using ballistite cartridges. It is also a simple weapon to strip and maintain, and is very tolerant to dirt and abuse. TECHNICAL DETAILS Caliber: 7'62x51mm-NATO Weight: 4.3 KILOGRAMS Magazine: 20-Rounds capacity "BM59-Type".
