SOCIMI AR-871
SOCIMI "AR" ASSAULT RIFLES SERIES The "AR" assault rifles were made in a VERY LIMITED NUMBER, by SOCIMI (the same makers of the TYPE 821 SMG), when the italian Special Forces (the COMSUBIN/Italian NAVY SEALS, the SAN MARCO BATALLION /Italian Marines, and the COL MOSCHIN REGIMENT /Italian equivalent of the U.S.A DELTA FORCE) opened a trial for a new service assault weapons cache, instead of the old AR-70 series. The SOCIMI realized 2 assault rifles: the AR-832/FS and the AR-870.NONE of those were never adopted by ANY italian force. According to the webmaster of the site http://www.pmulcahy.com, which I e-mailed asking further informations about those rifles that I never seen or heard before spotting those on his website, THE LAST TIME THOSE VERE ADVERTISED, IT WAS ON THE 1992 ISSUE OF "JANE'S INFANTRY WEAPONS". The Italian Special Forces, at the end of the trials, reverted to the BERETTA 70/90 series. AR-871 It is basically a scaled-down AR-832/FS, fitted with a Picatinny rail that could be replaced with a conventional carrying handle/rear sight combination. In addition to the light alloy construction of the AR-832/FS base, plastics are used for the stock and pistol grip. TECHNICAL DETAILS Ammo: 5'56x45mm-NATO; Weight: 3.6 KILOGRAMS; Magazine: 20-rounds or 30-rounds STANAG, 90-Rounds MWG, 100-rounds BETA-C Mag
