MAC 50 Khmére
The MAC 50 semi-automatic handgun (also known as Pa-MAC 50, or MAC PA-50) was made by MAC and MAS (Manufacture d'Armes de Chatelleraut, or Chatelleraut Weapons Manufacturing, and Manufacture d'Armes de Saint-Etienne, or Saint-Etienne Weapons Manufacturing). It fires the 9x19mm-Parabellum round, it was made since the '50s as a regulation sidearm for French Armed Forces, Gendarmerie, and Police; now it's out of production, but is still in use, it has not been yet completely phased out by the GIAT BM92-G1 "PA-MAS G1" (french license-made copy of the italian BERETTA M92-FS). Designed by CHARLES PETTER, the same engineer of the SIG P210, the MAC 50 proved to be a truly tried-and-true, rugged and reliable sidearm for any kind of service use. The posted picture features a MAC 50 "Khmére", as seen on the website: http://www.france-collection.com/mac50/mac%20Km%C3%A8re.html An order of MAC 50s was made in 1950 by the Kingdom of Cambodia. Less than 10 pre-series exemplars were manufactured for demostration, but the political changes in that area made the order to void. The pistol is identic to the french regulation version, but there are some differences (as you can see on the left side of the weapon, it is marked M66, that should have been the cambodian denomination). This MAC 50 has the Series Number A-8723
