BERETTA 1201-FP
The BERETTA 1201-FP was the last entry in the BERETTA shotguns series, before this manufacturer ultimately halted the production of such items, no more necessary since it had became owner of two italian shotguns manufacturers such as FRANCHI and BENELLI (the third one must important italian shotguns manufacturer, FABARM, is currently owned by HECKLER&KOCH of Germany and has already moved most of its production plants and machineries to Germany). The 1201-FP shotgun was mainly intended for home defence and for the Military/LE market. Interestingly enough, the 1201 is extremely similar to the Benelli M1 Super 90 shotgun, and had the same recoil-operated semiautomatic action, developed and patented by Benelli. The 1201FP was available with polymer furniture and stock, either with classic or pistol grip ("Police Stock" as was called by the manufacturer). Since the recoil spring is located in the buttstock, this shotgun cannot be fitted with the folding buttstock. The 1201FP can be found with either ghost-ring (large aperture diopter) or open rifle-type rear sights, and with the blade front sight. --- TECHNICAL SPECS: CALIBER: 12-Gauge CARTRIDGE CHAMBER: 76mm (3") TOTAL LENGHT: 1 Meter/ 60 Millimeters BARREL LENGHT: 520 Millimeters RIFLING: Smoothbore OPERATION: Semi-automatic, inertia-operated WEIGHT: 2,85 Kilograms (Empt) CAPACITY: From 5 to 6 rounds in underbarrel tube magazine
