Lynx .50 BMG / "Monster Lynx"
The Lynx .50BMG is manufactured by Pirkan Ase in Tampere, Finland. Oy K. Hjorth Ab is also responsible for export and marketing of this Lynx rifle. The gun has been designed by gunsmith Torsti Laaksonen. The Lynx .50BMG is a single shot rifle. The Lynx .50BMG gun and action are patented, as are other Lynx rifles. The Lynx .50BMG single shot action is very strong and very smooth to operate. Loading is done with the bolt removed. The rifle has a "foolproof" safety device preventing accidental discharge when inserting a cartridge into the bolt head. The bolt has three 23 mm long locking lugs. The scope rail is a 17 mm prism at a silightly upward angle, inorder to help scope compensation for long range bullet drop. The trigger pull on the Lynx .50BMG can be adjusted from 0,5 -1,2 kg (1,1 - 2,6 lbs.). Trigger position is also adjustable. The trigger mechanism is the same as on the other Lynx rifles. The trigger mechanism has adjustable pull and adjustable lenght of pull. The action is the same, well know actions, as on other Lynx rifles. The adjustable butt-plate minimizes recoil. Technical Data: Action: The lenght of the action is 255 mm, diameter 50 mm and weight 3,0 kg. The bolt body diameter is 34 mm. Barrel: The barrel is produced by Lothar Walther GmbH (Germany). The barrel lenght is 780 mm, length with muzzel brake is 910 mm and the twist is 15". Caliber: .50 BMG Stock: The stock is laminated hardwood. The stock has been manufactured by Markku Tervonen.
