Polish 7.62mm Karabinek wz 1997
Polish 7,62mm Karabinek wz 1997 (BOZ-1) http://www.militech.sownet.pl/bullpup/pols.html#polskie This weapon was a Polish prototype for the "Beryl" light weapons update program. Since the program was purported to select a new .5'56x45mm caliber for the Polish Armed Forces foreseeing the future entrance of Poland in the NATO, there was another bull-pup entry in the trial (called BIN-5'56mm, later updated as the BIN-21, known as the "Beryl Bull-Pup"). This weapon, ther BOZ-1 Wz-1997, was a foreseen update for the existing .7'62x39mm AK rifles in Polish service, the goal being the national issue to police and SPECOPS forces or the sale abroad. None of the above-mentioned bull-pup rifles ever passed the prototype stage (sorry for the guy who said he might want one). I recognized the BIN-5'56mm rifle between the props in a louzy B-Movie TV action flick starring Billy Zane some times ago (that's: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116016/ ), but the spread of this (indeed very good) Polish bull-pup rifles cache ends there. Too bad, I'd have wanted one. This rifle particularly, the BOZ-1, looks A LOT like the Singaporean SAR-21, doesn't it? Imagine a SAR-21 in .7'62mm-Soviet... cool, since we still cannot have it in .5'56mm for civilian sales.
